School Council
November 2024 Up-Date
This week, I met with the School Council to discuss the autumn programme that the children will be leading for the school. Their first main project is the Travel Plan initiative and started this initiative by running a Poster Competition to help reduce congestion at the school gates at morning drop-off and pick-up in the afternoon. Ideas for the key messages on the poster were:
- why drive if you can walk?
- driving to our gates isn't safe
- parking away and walking the last 10 minutes is safer and healthier
- be considerate of our neighbours
- our school environment doesn't need car fumes!
The winner and runners up were announced in Monday's Assembly, and the winning designs will be used on the gate and fence at the front of the school and shared with the local authority. Well done to Emma (and Megan helping) who had the winning design.

Rotakids and School Council Non-Uniform Day
The School Council will also be working with the Rotakids to run the highly popular Hot Chocolate Reindeer stand at the Christmas Fayre this year. To raise funds to buy the ingredients, the School Council asked for a non-uniform Day on Friday 22nd of November. I am delighted to announce that the event raised £150 which will be used to purchase the ingredients for the Rota Kids stall at the Christmas Fair on the 19th of December.
