Rotakids Club

On Tuesday the 30th of September, The Rotary Club visited Bishops Down to lead the first Rotakids Assembly. This is a very important assembly, as the school leaders for Rotary, called Rotakids, are introduced to the school and take the Rotar pledge, as well as receiving their badge of Office.
This year, Marley will be the President and Hazel will be the Vice-President of Rotakids. Louie will be the Club Secretary and Lucy is our Treasurer. The other Rotakids are Isiaiah, Mabel, Lyla, Adam R, Luke and Eliza, and they will be working with some of our Year 5s on some of the projects too.

During the assembly, Mr Ian King, former President, and Nigel Tratton (MBE), the new President of the Tunbridge Wells Rotary Club, spoke about the work the Rotakids will be part of this year, including planting more crocus' to help look after our school site, take part in fund raising initiatives for the school and community, and decorate a Christmas tree at St.Barnabus Church. The children will work with Peter Cornish from the Rotary Club on the very important Shoe Box Appeal again in November, and the children will again be presenting their work at the Rotary Club Annual Dinner in Tunbridge Wells in the Spring Term.
