Financial Reporting
All schools are legally required to publish certain financial information on their websites to ensure transparency and accountability of how public funds are used by the school. The information below meets these requirements, but also provides further information on the financial position of the school for parents and the wider school community.
Staff Salaries
Schools must disclose the number of employees whose salaries are above £100,000. At Bishops Down Primary School and Nursery there are no employees whose salary is greater than £100,000.
Financial Benchmarking
Schools must provide a link to the school's page on the Department of Education's Schools Financial Benchmarking Service. This service provides comparisons of income and expenditure with other similar size schools. The link is below, and refers to data in the financial year, 2023-2024.

Financial Report
All schools manage their current in-year budget as well as a medium-term 3-year budget, both of which are reported regularly to the Local Authority (LA). While the LA sets the main income and oversees spending and balance sheets, it is the responsibility of the head teacher and governors to ensure that the school maximises its income and manages its expenditure so that the school is financially stable, as well as providing the best educational provision for all its pupils. This can often be quite complex, but fortunately at Bishops Down, we have senior staff and governors with financial backgrounds who work together to ensure the best use of school finances. Please use the link below to view a short report for our 2025-26 budget.
